Spinning Supplies

About Us….

Vikki and Elle became friends several years ago while working together. It was only recently, that the two combined artistic ways and joined together to bring too you: Vintage k. Vikki is married with two sons, Jadon & Jacob, and a daughter Mariah. Her life is busy with working, spinning and motherhood. How she does all of this no one knows…. I would need pills. Her husband is a carpenter for a custom cabinet company. You would think with all of his knowledge, we would have storage for our yarns, but we don't. Are you reading this Ron??? Her humor keeps the girls going when we are carding crappy sheep's wool. She is younger than Elle which brings some of the contemporary side to our site. Elle is married with a 9yr. old daughter, who seems to think she is in her late teens. She is a city girl from the word go and unwashed wool creeps her out. Her husband bikes for Treks' racing team and is rarely home. She buys from all of the links on our site until the Visa bill comes and gets her into serious trouble. The damn shredder is broken or he would never know.

Our Name….

Elle is a Vintage lover at heart, though she spins and knits some of the wilder things on this site. Old photographs, jewelry pieces, buttons etc. is what brought us to the first part of our name. Simple enough….but than we have Vikki. The “k” comes from Vikki, who went out one day to purchase a knitting bag with the letter “V” on it. She decided that the bag was too expensive and would have to wait. We listened to her for over a week whine how she just should have purchased the bag. Well guess what happened when she finally did decide to go back and get the bag, you got it… it was sold. She came back with a bag with the letter “k” on it. When asked by many what the k stood for, she thought for a moment and surprised even herself with the word knit! So that is the story of how Vintage k came about. Read our blog for more of our moments.

Other Knitters and contributors to Vintage k:

Ann….Is elle's sister and a crotchetier at heart. You will find her beautiful afghans, baby blankets, sweaters on this site. She too leads a busy life but is happy taking special orders, just ask and she will email you back. Vintagek@hotmail.com

Patricia….elle's mom, (yes the whole family is involved), as our knitted items request have gone beyond how fast elle/Vikki can knit. You will find the same wild side to her, and that is probably where elle got it from.

Joan….elle's sister-in-law! If it weren't for distance and elle's health, a yarn store would be open and running today. Joan lives near the water front in Sheboygan, Wi. and another spot on the water opened waiting for a business. Someday their dreams will come true, and in the mean time they will just have to keep watching reruns of Cinderella.

Many of our shawls, handbags, scarves are found throughout the states at select boutiques. We do take custom orders and will try our best to accommodate you in all ways. Please email us:

Vintagek@hotmail.com and we check our email daily. Got that Joan!
